This level of excellence has been achieved due to the dynamic drive of mechanical and watchmaking companies which had created, as true visionaries, research institutions at the cutting edge of new technologies.

Research & Education are strongly rooted in the economic fabric of western Switzerland, maintaining close relationships with businesses in this domain.

The Federal Polytechnical School, universities and colleges of higher education

• offer comprehensive study programs in micro and nanotechnology and other related branches,
• organize continuing education courses and

The CSEM - Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology, Inc. is a privately held, knowledge-based company carrying out research and development specializing in micro and nanotechnology, systems engineering and information technology.

The FSRM - Swiss Foundation for Research in Microtechnology is a private law foundation whose mission is the promotion of microtechnology. She is very active in continuing education.
